Position Overview:

 

The Technical Assistant is responsible for assisting the Account Managers and Agents in maintaining client relationships. Periodic openings occur in departments such as: Construction, Commercial, Employee Benefits, Financial Services, Health Care Services, Personal Lines and Select Business Unit.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

 

1.    Creating electronic client files; invoicing clients;

2.    Preparing binders; updating coverage summaries;

3.    Receiving and responding to client requests for certificates; maintaining accurate and current electronic files;

4.    Preparing policy books for delivery to client;

5.    All other duties requested by the agent or account manager in accordance with TIS practices which are related to the successful maintenance of the client relationship.

Qualifications and Skills:

 

1.    High school equivalency; college degree and insurance related work experience a plus

2.    Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

3.    Highly detail oriented; strong organizational skills

4.    Self-motivated and self-starter, ability to work well independently yet function as part of a team

5.    Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service

 

Physical and Environmental Demands:

1.    Job located in a professional office environment routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, manuals, filing cabinets and fax machines, etc.)

2.    Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching; occasional lifting/carrying (15 pounds or less)

3.    Moderate stress level

4.    Prolonged activities: sitting, use of the telephone, speaking, work on a PC/computer

5.    Ability to travel periodically; attend conferences, seminars to maintain licenses through continuing education.
