Position Overview:


The Marketing Representative provides critical marketing service necessary to obtain property and casualty quotes on new and renewal accounts allowing the agent to focus on selling and maintaining his/her relationship with the client. Commercial insurance experience and coverage knowledge is required.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):


1.    Review and analyze submissions received from Account Managers and select appropriate carriers for marketing.

2.    Develop marketing strategy in partnership with Producer and identify account specific goals or desired outcomes.

3.    Coordinate with Account Managers and Underwriters required information necessary to obtain quotes. Requires excellent organization skills to maintain timeline and make adjustments as necessary.

4.    Keep agents informed of the marketing status and immediately involve them if a problem arises.

5.    Prepare account proposals.

6.    Bind coverage on quotes taken with appropriate underwriters and update Agency Management System to accurately reflect bound coverage. Close out Marketing file timely so that Account Manager can meet timelines for billing, issuing Certificates, etc.

7.    Develop and maintain marketing relationship with appropriate company personnel.   Marketing Representatives maintain carrier database and have responsibility to become expert at one line of coverage minimum.

8.    Keep abreast of carrier and market changes, updating team as appropriate.

9.    Compliance with applicable laws; staying abreast of changes in healthcare; file documentation and performance of responsibilities with clients and others in a manner that avoids potential errors and omissions.

10.  Other duties requested by the broker and/or in accordance with TIS practices which are related to the successful retention and maintenance of client relationships

Qualifications and Skills:


1.    Minimum 3-5 years commercial property and casualty insurance experience required.   Commercial insurance Account Management or Marketing experience preferred.

2.    Must be able to apply computer technology applicable to this position including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite of products.

3.    Highly detail oriented; strong organizational skills

4.    Exceptional creative and critical analysis skills

5.    Self-motivated and self-starter, ability to work well independently yet function as part of the account management team

6.    Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service


Physical and Environmental Demands:

Job located in a professional office environment routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, manuals, filing cabinets and fax machines, etc.)Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching; occasional lifting/carrying (15 pounds or less) Moderate stress level; Prolonged activities: sitting, use of the telephone, speaking, work on a PC/computerAbility to travel periodically; attend conferences, seminars to maintain licenses through continuing education.
