POSITION OVERVIEW

The Account Manager is responsible for assisting Producers in day-to-day handling of account(s) to maintain client relationships with strong emphasis on service and account retention with Construction industry related clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage the renewal process by facilitating communication between the client, agency, Producer, and partner carriers including but not limited to updating applications and maintaining spreadsheets
  2. Facilitate Marketing process and coordinate communication to all parties
  3. Review insurance requirements in contracts that our clients have been awarded or are bidding
  4. Notify client of any additional insurance needed to be in compliance with the contract.
  5. Work with underwriters to obtain quotes for additional insurance needed and advising the client accordingly
  6. Maintain strong client relationships with ability to problem solve.
  7. Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions, and exposures while documenting electronic files appropriately
  8. Prepare proposals, applications, submits to the insured and/or carrier as needed, obtains client signatures, and follows up to ensure timely responses, all in conjunction with Producers, Account Managers, and Marketing Representatives
  9. Respond to client needs by producing binders, certificates, policies, and other related items accurately and on time
  10. Actively engaged in client risk management and claim processes, facilitate communication and meetings between carrier, client, and agency personnel
  11. Prepare summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals
  12. Verify accuracy of processed endorsements, taking corrective action when necessary
  13. Explain audit procedures to clients and review interim reports for credibility and coverage adequacy
  14. Order policies and prepare policy books for delivery to clients
  15. Stay abreast of developments in the insurance industry and changes in coverage
  16. Maintain accurate and current electronic files; file documentation and performance of responsibilities with clients and others in a manner that avoids potential errors and omissions
  17. Seek referrals from current client base to solicit for new business prospects
  18. Other duties requested by the broker and/or in accordance with TIS practices which are related to the successful retention and maintenance of client relationships. This may include some travel to client facilities when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. High school degree or equivalency; college degree preferred
  2. Previous related insurance work experience
  3. Working knowledge of commercial insurance industry, underwriting, and rating procedures
  4. Current applicable license preferred. If not currently held, the ability to obtain licenses as required by State Department of Insurance and the ability to participate in seminars or other training to maintain license(s).
  5. Ability to compliance with applicable laws
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service and organizational skills
  7. Self-starter with the ability to work well independently yet function as part of a team
  8. Strong risk management skills including claims
  9. Ability to build strong client relationships, problem solve, and document follow up
  10. Proficiency working in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENT DEMANDS

  1. Job located in a professional office environment routinely uses standard office equipment (computers, phones, copy machines, manuals, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc.)
  2. Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, and occasional lifting/carrying (15 pounds or less)
  3. Moderate stress level
  4. Prolonged activities: sitting, use of the telephone, speaking, work on a PC/computer
  5. Ability to travel periodically to attend conferences or seminars to maintain licenses through continuing education and as needed to meet with clients.
